I met with April a couple of weeks ago to go over the final details of her wedding day. We met at her soon to be Mother-in-law’s house, where the wedding would be held. It was an unseasonably warm and gorgeous day. She kept saying, “I hope that the weather is this nice on my wedding day”. Well, it was nicer! Just absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony was held in Aaron’s Mom’s beautiful front yard and the late day golden sun was peeking through the trees. Then there was Banjo! The part Jack Russell, part Chihuahua, in a bow tie! Overall… a really great day full of love.

Mother’s Day Portraits

We had a fun Mother’s Day. The kids and I made my wife breakfast in bed. Pancakes, eggs, and coffee. Then we took my wife to the beach, which is her favorite place to be, to go surfing. We had a picnic on the beach for lunch. That evening my Mom came over to our house and I cooked her dinner. I cooked slow grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and an avocado and onion salad. Yum!

After dinner, we went out in the front yard for a couple of quick portraits of my mom and me, the kids and my wife, and a few others. It was a good day!

My Grandma’s 93rd Birthday Party

We were on a family vacation all week last week. We got back home last night. On the last full day of our vacation, we headed to my Grandmother’s house in Blue Ridge, GA to celebrate her 93rd birthday. My grandma’s name is Helen, but we call her “Bubba”. Arthritis has affected her mobility, but her mind is still 100%. We always love to visit. I spent many summers at her house, so going back brings back a lot of good memories. Just the smell of the house and her yard instantly takes me back to my childhood. We also had all my aunts, uncles, and cousins at the house. It was great to see everyone. I didn’t take many pictures because I was just hanging out, but I took a few.

Here’s a shot of my family on my Mom’s side. My grandma is the good looking lady on the far left with the blue/green blouse. In the wheel chair is my grandma’s best friend who is also 93 and named Helen.

Here are all the great grand kids. Yes… my son (in the yellow shirt) needs a hair cut! He looks like a shaggy dog.
