There are few things in my vocation as a photographer that beats photographing good friends on their wedding day. There was so much love surrounding AJ & Abby on their wedding day. So much joy! I was so excited for them. Congratulations AJ & Abby!!!

I had to include the above picture of my girls. The blondie is my daughter. The gorgeous lady in the middle is my wife. Lizzie (on the right) isn’t one of my girls… but close enough. We think of her as one of the family.

Wedding Photography Tip: Don’t Light Your Photographer on Fire

Ok… I didn’t get lit on fire, but it was close. There was a guest to my left that caught his foot on fire. Ha! This was a little bit scary, but a lot of fun. The whole time the bride and groom were coming at me, there were guests getting dangerously close to me with sparklers. I kept yelling out loud, “Don’t light the photographer on fire!” Here’s a serious tip, the easy light paper wrapped sparklers make a lot of smoke. It can be a cool look or it can be a disaster. It worked well at this wedding.

Chris and Grace’s Jacksonville Wedding

I knew Chris and Grace’s Jacksonville wedding was going to be epic from the second that I heard the pre-service music being played on the piano. Coldplay, Oasis, Ben Folds, etc. And get this… Grace came down the aisle to Smashing Pumpkins! Coolest wedding music EVER! The whole evening was fantastic. Chris and the boys “Tebow’d” in the garden at the Cummer Museum and Gardens. Then, later in the evening, we got a surprise visit from… wait for it… The Krispy Kreme guy. That was a first for me and I shoot a lot of weddings. He was a total hit. Piles of doughnuts and Krispy Kreme hats for everyone. It was a great day!

April and Aaron’s Green Cove Springs Wedding

I met with April a couple of weeks ago to go over the final details of her wedding day. We met at her soon to be Mother-in-law’s house, where the wedding would be held. It was an unseasonably warm and gorgeous day. She kept saying, “I hope that the weather is this nice on my wedding day”. Well, it was nicer! Just absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony was held in Aaron’s Mom’s beautiful front yard and the late day golden sun was peeking through the trees. Then there was Banjo! The part Jack Russell, part Chihuahua, in a bow tie! Overall… a really great day full of love.

Jacksonville Zoo Wedding – Aimee & Stuart

I love weddings at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Make not bones about it… it’s a challenge. The zoo is one of the most difficult places to shoot, but that’s partially why I love to shoot there. I dig a good challenge! Aimee and Stuarts zoo wedding was gorgeous. The weather was perfect and everyone seemed to have a great time. The best part was just being around such great people. Aimee and Stuart are two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. We also put up my “Crazy Booth”, which isn’t really a booth, but a portrait area. That was a lot of fun. I’ll post some images from the crazy booth later.
